The
Gruffalo's Child

Tall Stories
Assembly@George Street, August 4 -28
****
It’s a real tight-rope walk to strike a balance between creating an eerie, atmospheric enchantment and providing top notch entertainment, and it’s a trick that Tall Stories have nailed down with aplomb.

There can be very few companies staging kids’ shows in Edinburgh right now who understand their young audiences as well as Tall Stories, and the quality of this show is equal to the best adult theatre.

The Gruffalo’s Child takes the forbidden journey to the deep dark wood in search of a Big Bad Mouse, meeting a host of interesting characters along the way.

Occasionally the songs lag on too long, but the music and dancing is quirky and funny. The corporality of the performers, relentless in energy and planned out in minuscule detail, is endlessly fascinating to watch whatever your age.
