Quad
Throw Salchow
The Unwelcome Guest/Speed
“Quad
Throw Salchow are what would have resulted if Lou Reed and Patti
Smith had ever got high on absinthe, shagged, then handed the
bastard lovechild over to the Surrealists to raise as their
own, back in the 1920s and in some commune just outside of Paris.”
A statement so amazing cannot go unprinted, but I really don’t
see what is so surreal about either of these songs. Both of
them are rubbish.
Both have awfully repetitive basslines and rubbish vocals. In
fact, scratch Lou Reed and insert Dave Benson Phillips. Why?
This wouldn’t have turned any heads on Playdays.
