Tom Findlay - Watch The Ride

The
second release in Harmless records Watch The Ride series
brings a mix from another big dance music name, Groove Armada’s
Tom Findlay.
This mix is a fairly predictable low-tempo house collection that
flows nicely for the hour plus running time but never really gets
out of the starting blocks. This is not a mind-blowing mix but
a background pre-cursor to a grand night on the tiles.
Still the collection is wonderfully contemporary and does throw
in some odd-ball numbers such as Claude Von Strokes bizarre ‘The
Whistler, the Riton re-rub of The Aliens ‘Robot Man’
and the electronic baile-funk madness of end-track ‘Yah!’.
Much of the stand-out music on this release comes from Findlay’s
own 80s soul-infused project Sugardaddy with ‘Love Honey’
and exclusive inclusion ‘Chasing My Tail (12 Edit)’
offering a bit more funky flava to lift above the relative monotony
of the rest of the mix.
Whilst this edition of Watch The Ride has its moments
it is just ‘another’ dance mix CD and is one for fans
only.
