Jawbone
Hauling
Jawbone oozes rock n roll authority.
As a one-man blues band the mission is to bring stripped-down,
‘punk blues’ to the world.
Second album Hauling is a rallying call against precision-produced
lifeless modern rock. This is an exciting and distinct album which
drags the ghosts of blues legends into the punk rock arena.
‘Jump Jump’ is a red-hot slab of distorted boogie-woogie,
whilst ‘Chug a lug’ is wonderfully playful garage
rock n roll. High-octane, over-driven ‘blues punk’
runs through the veins of ‘Low Dang Discount Teenage Blues’
and the more subtle, considered side of the blues comes forth
on ‘Drop Down Low’ and ‘All Want Jesus Name’.
Each and every track will have you hollering and foot-tapping
along.
The primitive, lo-fi, basement production can make for a difficult
listen at times. This is of little consequence - Jawbone embodies
rock n roll and that can only be a good thing.
