Everybody’s dead, killed by their own hand in this interesting romantic comedy by Goran Dukic.

Zia, played by Patrick Fugit, slits his wrists upon discovering his girlfriend has been unfaithful. He then finds himself in the suicides afterlife, where no-one can smile, and discovers his ex is also there somewhere, having “offed” herself one month later.

With his Russian friend Eugene, Zia sets out to find her only to find himself falling for a curious hitchhiker they pick up along the way.

Wristcutters is funny in parts, well acted and reaches a satisfying conclusion. Best enjoyed after a few beers.
