Jewish
student admits drawing dorm-room swastikas
A
Jewish student who complained about swastikas appearing on her dormitory
door admitted to drawing some of them herself.
Sarah Marshak, a freshman at George Washington University, was caught
on film by a hidden video camera set up by university police, during
the sixth incident of a swastika being drawn on her door.
Marshak who could face criminal charges, said to university paper the
Hatchet: “I wasn’t looking to create this, sort of, insanity.
I wasn’t looking to become a media darling. I was just looking
for acknowledgment from the university that someone drew a swastika
on the door.”
Nine incidents of swastikas being painted took place during a two-week
period, and Marshak admitted to drawing three of them.
Another student was caught and charged with drawing swastikas and racial
slurs in another dormitory, he has since been banned from campus.
