As
a barrage of young people get ready to embark for Brazil’s most
famous Carnaval, have you thought of staying a little longer in Brazil?
Every year, seven weeks before Easter, Brazil stops. It is Carnaval
time. For four days from Saturday through Tuesday, as a climax to the
Southern Hemisphere summer, the country sings and dances in bars and
clubs, on the streets and beaches, or wherever there are people and
music. This year the world’s most famous festivities will take
place on the 17-20 February.
Thought life in the UK could be fast paced at times? Think again - the
Brazilian people embrace life with a certain passion, making life colourful,
enjoyable and different (and they sure know how to party!)
Does Brazil sound like too much fun and passion to miss? For those thinking
about heading over to Brazil for Carnaval, think about this- CCUSA runs
a student exchange program to Brazil so you can experience the real
Brazil for 2-3 months beyond the craziness of Carnaval.
CCUSA are an internationally recognized organization with 15 programs
that recruit from over 50 countries. For over 20 years we have placed
over 170,000 young adults in hundreds of summer camps and seasonal employers
across Brazil, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, UK,
Europe, and Russia.
Caity Williams Director of Special Programs for CCUSA says, “CCUSA’s
Brazilian program is perfect for those travelers who have fallen in
love with Brazil and are looking to stay in the country a little longer
than you they would be able to as a tourist. Our program offers participants
great flexibility where they can choose both their location and also
what type of job they would like.’
The program is aimed at UK university students who have an adventurous
spirit, enjoy traveling and immersing themselves into a new culture.
Life as a local in Brazil is very different from life in the UK, participants
live with host family and work as a teaching assistant, in a bar/restaurant,
office, hotel or in a sports/leisure capacity. If you are looking for
a change of scene and are sick to death of the grey UK winter then Brazil
is an incredible choice.
Charlie Durram from
the UK states ‘Working in Brazil was the most amazing experience
of my life; I learnt Portuguese, got to hang out with locals and made
so many friends from all over the globe. I didn’t want to leave
and I’m already planning my next trip over there with CCUSA.’
